Our winery, patiently and thoughtfully renovated in the late 1990s, enjoys a naturally cool temperature even during the hot summer months. It houses custom-made steel tanks for winemaking and storage, with a recently renovated shop and a welcome room.
We grow over six hectares of vineyards on the hills of morainic origin located in Corbanese di Tarzo, at the heart of the UNESCO area of Conegliano-Valdobbiadene.
The mild climate and constant ventilation make this land the choice of the vine. The favourable orientation to the East and South-East guarantees optimal exposure for the ripening of the grapes, and the temperature variations between day and night enrich the grapes with a fine aromatic set.
The hills of Prosecco Superiore Conegliano-Valdobbiadene DOCG are located in the North-Eastern area of the Veneto region, in a privileged meeting point between the mountains of Cortina and the Venice lagoon.
The area of the Treviso Prealps has been linked to the cultivation of vines for over a century: viticulture was already practiced in Roman times, and the first mention of Prosecco dates back to 1700. This bond was definitively sealed with the recognition in 2009 of Controlled and Guaranteed Designation of Origin (DOCG), the highest level of quality for Italian wines, which identified fifteen high-hill municipalities between Conegliano, the cultural capital, and Valdobbiadene, the production heart, as its historic production area. Now, 2019 marks another great achievement by the denomination: its inscription on the UNESCO World Heritage List.
The distinctive features of these hills, the hogbacks or steep reliefs with parallel chords, and the ciglioni - small plots of vines on narrow grassy terraces, contribute to the creation of a mosaic landscape in which vineyards alternate with wooded areas and small inhabited villages. These traditional environmental and agricultural practices implemented by man over the centuries have, therefore, led to the creation of a true “cultural landscape.”
The only way we know how to work revolves around the concept of seasonality. Moving according to Mother Nature's rhythms means adapting to the peculiar trends and progress of each crop. In other words, experience and passion drive our movement, even in the face of daily difficulties.
Taking care of your vineyards means weaving an inseparable relationship with the land. For this reason, even today, we choose to carry out the major processes exclusively by hand (dry and green pruning, suckering, harvesting, etc.) in compliance with tradition and to guarantee a precise selection of the product already in the vineyard.
Our vineyards are located entirely on the hills of Corbanese di Tarzo, at the heart of the UNESCO area of Conegliano-Valdobbiadene.
The multifactorial combination of altitude, East and South-East orientation and windy climate limits the onset of some typical vine diseases, particularly fungal parasites and mould. Consequently, there is a reduction in specific treatments in the vineyard.
Furthermore, since 2009, these lands have been awarded the Controlled and Guaranteed Designation of Origin (DOCG), positioning themselves at the top of national wine production regarding quality. Our company, therefore, scrupulously adheres to the strict measures of the Conegliano Valdobbiadene Prosecco Superiore DOCG Viticultural Protocol, guaranteeing the highest product quality from the vineyard to your glass.
The nature of these hills is characterized by steep slopes, so much so that viticulture is defined as “heroic,” severely limiting mechanization. This means that the work in the vineyard, as well as the grape harvest, are carried out traditionally, that is, manually, with the result of maintaining a low environmental impact.
The company also has woodland areas, essential for preserving the biodiversity of our ecosystem, and uses a renewable energy supplier to minimize the ecological footprint of the entire production cycle.
